Se realizó el inventario florístico preliminar de la Reserva de la Biósfera de los Pantanos de Centla (RB-PC). El trabajo comprendió: a) la revisión de los Herbarios UJAT, CSAT, MEXU, XOLO y ENCB, b) la colecta botánica intensiva durante 1998 y c) la revisión de información de estudios florísticos de la zona de trabajo. Se discute el estatus de especies de interés biológico y fitogeográfico. Se sugiere añadir tres de ellas a la NOM 059-ECOL 94. Además, se comentan casos específicos como Chysis limminghei, Byttneria fluvialis, Crescentia alata, Galactia dubia y Bravaisia berlanderiana. Se encontraron, en total, 737 especies, de las cuales, 637 son silvestres. Con esta aportación se representa cerca del 25% de la flora del estado de Tabasco estimada hasta ahora y se adicionan 230 nuevos reportes. El conocimiento de la flora de la RB-PC se incrementa en un 50% desde el último reporte de 1992. La evidencia florística respalda el hecho de que en la RB-PC se tiene la representación florística más importante de humedales de México, cuya conservación es vital.

A preliminary floristic inventory of the Reserve of the Biosphere Wetlands of Centla (RB-PC) was carried out. The work included: a) the overhaul of UJAT, CSAT, MEXU, XOLO and ENCB Herbaria; b) the botanical intensive collection during 1998 and, c) the overhaul of the information of floristic studies in the study area. The status of species of biologic and fitogeographic interest is analysed. lt is suggested to add three of them to the NOM 059-ECOL 94. Besides. specific cases such as Chysis limminghei, Byttneria fluvialis, Crescentía alata, Galactia dubia and Bravaisia berlanderiana are discussed. A total of 737 species were found, 637 of them are wild. With this finding, near the 25% of the up-dated estimated flora in the State of Tabasco is represented and 230 new reports are added. The knowledge of the RB-PC flora is increased a 50% from the last report in 1992. The floristic evidence endorses the fact that in the RB-PC, there is the most important floristic representation of wetlands in Mexico whose conservation is vital.
