The coastal lagoon of La Ventanilla is in Oaxaca's southernmost district of Pochutla, located between the parallels 15º40'26.64"N and 96º34'53.08"W, on a narrow coastal plain running roughly east-west between the Sierra Madre Sur and the Pacific Ocean.
