Como fruto de un diálogo interdisciplinario sobre los itinerarios migratorios y los procesos de integración a la sociedad mexicana de los niños y niñas que han estado llegando a México provenientes de Estados Unidos, este libro ofrece los hallazgos de dos décadas de investigaciones. Estos menores tienen un rasgo en común: son migrantes internacionales. Algunos son migrantes de retorno porque nacieron en México; luego, siendo aún pequeños, se mudaron a Estados Unidos y, posteriormente antes de llegar a la mayoría de edad_ regresaron a México. Otros nacieron en Estados Unidos y llegan a México por primera vez. Estos niños y niñas son los hijos de lo que Hernández-León y Zúñiga llamaron la Gran Migración (1986-2005) que luego se convirtió en la Gran Expulsión (2005 en adelante). Cuando estaban en Estados Unidos eran miembros de la segunda generación, o de la generación 1.5, dependiendo del país en el que hayan nacido. This book, published in Spanish, contains the findings of two decades of research on children who moved from the United States to Mexico since the beginning of the 21st Century. It is the product of an interdisciplinary dialogue about the children's itineraries and trajectories, and the processes of integration (or lack thereof) in Mexican society and institutions. All these children have something in common: they are international migrants because they crossed the border. Some of them are migrant returnees because they were born in Mexico; when they were minors they went to the United States, and before they came of age, they returned to Mexico. Others were not returnees at all because they were born in the United States and came to Mexico for the first time in their lives. These children are sons and daughters of Mexico-born migrants and they are part and parcel of what Hernández-León and Zúñiga (2016) called the Great Migration (1986-2005) from Mexico to the United States. Those children, when they were living in the United States, were members of the second generation or the 1.5 generation depending of the country of birth. However, as we argue in the book, once they have moved/returned to Mexico they are not members of those generations anymore. eng
