Este trabajo tiene el objetivo de analizar cómo se usa el concepto vulnerabilidad en el discurso oficial de la Dirección de Atención a la Infancia y la Familia del Sistema Nacional para el Desarrollo Integral de la Familia en el estado de Yucatán, México. Siguiendo el método de la etnografía institucional, se halló que el discurso oficial difiere de las implicaciones reales del concepto, principalmente en relación con la multidimensionalidad y con las experiencias de las personas vulnerables. Se reflexiona sobre la importancia de los contextos situados para comprender las historias de riesgo y proponer estrategias de acción. Español

The goal of this paper is to analyze how the Bureau of Assistance to Children and Families of the State of Yucatan, Mexico, uses the concept of vulnerability in its official discourse. Using institutional ethnography, we interviewed civil servants from the Bureau and reviewed documents regarding their activities. We demonstrate that official discourse differs from the real implications of its use, mainly in terms of the multidimensional character and structure that arise from the experiences of vulnerable people. In this article, we reflect on the importance of situated contexts in order to gain greater understanding of the histories of risk and to propose strategies of action. Inglés
