Hydro-meteorological hazards, like floods and droughts, had been recognized as the principal cause of death of humans, within the natural hazards sector of death producing events. In addition to the hydro-meteorological hazards, global climate change has been recognized as a major threat to mankind survival as a species. To recognize this facts is a step forward in acting to mitigate the effects of both phenomena that affects every single person living in Planet Earth. The International Conference of Hydro-meteorological Risks and Climate Change-2014 (ICHRCC-2014) was organized to provide a forum for the interdisciplinary exchange of ideas and points of view in all the aspects related with hydro-meteorological risks and climate change, and all the trade-offs between these fields of study.
