Combining widely dispersed data and concepts with new investigations made especially for this book, it presents the reader with a detailed, thoroughly integrated study of the topography, igneous composition, structure, and sediments of the Atlantic. Effects of plate movements and changing climates upon water movements and contents of organisms and sediments are included.
